DC Reasi chairs meeting regarding upcoming Back to Village-2

District Development Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib today held a meeting with Rural Development Department officers and works for the upcoming Back to Village programme.A brief training and awareness session for VLWs, MPWs and other ground staff was also conducted as part of the meeting. During the session, thorough introduction to various guidelines, feedback forms and other important documents were also provided.The DDC, who is also the nodal officer for the programme in the district, briefed that the second edition of ‘Back to Village’ programme is aimed at reiterating government’s commitment for the development of villages. It is through visiting officers, that villages would get to raise their grievances and present general assessment of the earlier edition of the programme, she said.She also directed all members and Panchayati Raj Institutions and representatives from front line departments to be present during the visit of the officers to their respective villages.It was also informed by the DDC that a dedicated control room has been set at the district headquarters to address all queries regarding the programme and that all visiting officers have to report there before and after their tour.The RDD was also directed that one or more of their works be inaugurated and handed over to the village by the visiting officer. Similarly, it was also suggested that the visiting officer help spread awareness about using traditional alternates of Single Use Plastic disposable utensils. Shramdaan, voluntary manual labour, activities would also be an essential part of these visits, it was told.Additional District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Chander, who is also in charge of organising Village Haats at block levels, also spoke to district officers from agriculture, horticulture, handicraft and other department at the meeting.Earlier, during a press conference the DDC formally announced the preparations made by the district administration regarding Back to Village programme.
