The Member National Commission for Minority Manjit Singh Rai today called upon all sections of society to exercise self restrain over use and propagation of communal thoughts on social media to ensure peace and tranquility in society.Addressing the district administration Mansa along with Deputy Commissioner Mansa Mrs Apneet Riyait, the member National Commission for Minority said that social media has become the most powerful tool of communication but requires strict self monitoring and restrain. He called upon leaders of minority groups to develop a mechanism on social media that propagates harmony and acts as an inhibitor in events of communal disharmony.Laying emphasis on issues of minority He directed that students from minority communites should be given proper guidance on various scholarships available for them. He took stock of the ongoing schemes for people from minority groups.On pursuance of Muslim community representative Mr Hans Raj Mofar the District administration was directed to ensure that the three madrasas operating in Mansa district should be modernized as per government provisions and steps be initiated to affiliate it to Punjab School Education Board.Christian community representative Pastor Samuel John Sidhu raised issue of cremation grounds for the community. The member Mr Manjit Singh Rai directed that the issue be resolved within a month and be reported to his office .ADC (D) Mr Rajdeep Singh Brar, ADC (G) Mr Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Assistant  Commissioner (General) Mr Navdeep Kumar who also has charge of SDM Mansa, SDM Sardulgarh Mr Rajpal Singh, SP (H) Satnam Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Lal Chand Thakral, District Welfare Officer Mr Jagsir Singh, District Program Officer Mrs Avinash Kaur Walia, DSSO Mrs Loveleen Birring, DEO Mrs Rajwant Kaur were also present.
