DDC Kupwara reviews preparations for 2nd Phase of B2V programme

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today chaired a meeting of district and sectoral officers to review the preparations and arrangements being put in place for conducting of 2nd Phase of Back to Village (B2V) Programme commencing from 25th of this month in the district.The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nazir Ahmad; JD Planning, ACD, CAO, Executive Engineers of various engineering wings and other concerned officers.While reviewing the arrangements, the DDC directed the concerned officers to schedule their departmental activities to coincide with the 3 phases of Back to Village Programme. He directed the officers to focus on beneficiary driven schemes to improve the developmental process in district.The DDC directed the ACD to undertake at-least two developmental works in each panchayat during the programme, besides focus on establishing and development of playgrounds across the district to facilitate the youth in extra-curricular activities. He directed the Chief Agriculture   Officer to distribute the threshers among farmer beneficiaries to facilitate them in easing out their work.Similarly, other departments like Social Welfare, ICDS, and Handicrafts & Handloom will conduct their community-benefit activities in parallel to the programme besides conduct awareness programmes in the panchayats to guide the people about various welfare schemes of the government.  District Social Welfare Officer was directed to cover 100% widows under welfare schemes offered by the government. Handicrafts & Handloom departments were directed to display their art work to inspire the young and interested artisans for setting up their own enterprises.The DDC urged the district officers to sensitize the frontline field functionaries to make the programme a grand success in the district. He said the activities, carried out by the departments during the programme should be implemented with utmost commitment for public welfare.
