Young entrepreneurs plan to switch businesses, Courier offices in Sgr remain shut

As Kashmir limps back to normalcy after a gap of 100 days, business establishments are slowly returning to normal but online business continues to remain shut in the wake of non-availability of internet since August 5.According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the uncertainty triggered by the revocation of Article 370 and bifurcation of erstwhile State into two Union Territories (UTs) on August 5 left the Kashmir’s business shattered and while as the somehow shops and other commercial establishments are returning to normal after a gap of 100 days, the online business across the Valley continues to bear the brunt.New entrepreneurs who were trying to tackle the unemployment by setting up their own ventures, are still effected due to internet gag. “Internet was only option to earn our bread and butter in these harsh conditions. But we are feeling shattered as internet is like an oxygen,” said Aijaz Rashid, a young entrepreneur, who was running an readymade garment shop online.Due to the internet gag, Mubashir Hussain, a young software engineer said that he wanted to order computer accessories online to keep his shop running, but couldn’t due to internet gag.“My business is running in losses and I am planning to close down my business and switch over to the other business till internet is restored,” a visibly upset Hussain told KNO. The internet gag has also caused a huge dent to the courier services in Kashmir. “Our offices are shut as we are not able to receive or send couriers in absence of internet gag,” said senior employee of Bluedart courier services.
