Talat Parvez reviews progress on Degree College buildings coming up under RUSA

Secretary, Higher Education, Talat Parvez, today chaired a meeting of officers, executing agencies of JKPCC and R&B departments to review construction works being executed on Degree Colleges coming up under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in JK Union Territory.Managing Director, JKPCC, Director Planning, Higher Education Department, Superintendent & Executive Engineers JKPCC and R&B, Principals of various Degree Colleges besides officers and officials of HED/RUSA were present in the meeting.During the meeting, the authorities of RUSA gave details about the pace of work on various ongoing degree colleges through power point presentation.The Secretary asked the concerned officers to take necessary steps for speedy disposal of all pending cases and submit the detailed Utilization Certificates of all works so that the remaining funds could be arranged for the purpose.The Secretary directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing Degree College buildings for timely.Meanwhile, the  held threadbare discussion on creation of Universities by conversion of colleges into cluster, Infrastructure grants to Universities, up gradation of existing colleges to Model Colleges and infrastructure grants to colleges under RUSA, Equity initiatives, Faculty improvement and Research innovation and Quality improvement.
