Chairman All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference meets Lt. Governor

Shafiq Mir, Chairman All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference, met Lt. Governor Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.Sh. Mir urged for empowerment of Panchayats and Block development Councils at the earliest in order to ensure people’s direct participation in the overall development of their areas. Lt. Governor assured Sh. Mir that measures are afoot for making Panchayats and BDCs vibrant institutions and said that shortly he will take notice of the Block wise development requirements of Jammu and Kashmir and send his officers to review developmental needs of villages under the ‘Back to Village’ programme.
