Save girl child campaign : DDC Kathua launches BBBP promotional sticker

As a special initiative to spread awareness about Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, the Deputy Commissioner Kathua, O P Bhagat today launched a promotional sticker depicting the logo of the scheme and spreading the message to act with urgency and effectiveness on the issues of Gender discrimination and empowerment of girl child. Bhagat pasted the sticker on his official vehicle and informed that these stickers will be pasted on all Government. Vehicles and school buses to encourage advocacy efforts and community mobilization initiatives to promote a positive attitude among the citizens towards womanhood and to promote birth of the girl child.He said that the Government has launched the Beti Pachao Beti Padhao Programme which is a flagship initiative to address the issue of declining female Sex Ratio, to empower the girl child and enable her education,   preventing gender biased sex selective elimination and ensuring survival and protection of the girl child. DEPO, Aruna Sharma exhibited the wall paintings depicting girl child`s right to life, survival and development, right to identity besides promoting and encouraging people to commit protection, safety, value and education of the girl child.

ADC, Ghanshyam Singh, RTO, Dr. R K Thapa, ACD, Sukhpal Singh, DIO, Parshotam Dass, Engineers and other District Officers were present on this occasion.
