DC Baramulla reviews inclement weather preparedness

In view of inclement weather conditions and snowfall forecast, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today took stock of the preparedness in the district.Chairing a meeting of concerned sectoral heads of various engineering wings, the Deputy Commissioner held threadbare discussion on snow clearance action plan and providing of other essential services in the district.He directed Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Baramulla to keep men and machinery ready to meet any kind of eventuality. He also said that the action plan formulated for snow clearance should be put into practice instantly once the situation demands.He directed the concerned to deploy the snow clearance machines at the earmarked locations for quick response.Superintendent Engineer, Hydraulic Baramulla was directed to ensure drinking water facility without any interruption in the district and to ensure that the officials of Irrigation and Flood Control are deployed to monitor the level of water in khuls so that necessary measures are taken well in advance to avoid any breach and flood like situations.The DC also directed the Municipal authorities to ensure that the de-watering pumps are made available at all the locations wherever required.Executive Engineer was directed to ensure manual snow clearance from inner links where machines cannot operate. He impressed upon health authorise to providing health services so that the people may not face any kind of difficulties during the bad weather conditions.Meanwhile, it was also informed that a joint control room at DC office has already been established which can be contacted on mobile numbers 7006493646 and 01952234343. The DC directed all the sectoral officers to establish 24x7 control rooms in their office premises for better coordination.
