DC Kupwara reviews snow clearance preparedness

In view of weather predictions, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting of concerned officera to review the snow clearance preparedness.Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Karnah & Lolab and other officers attended the meeting.DC directed Disaster Management Department to gear up their men and machinery to tackle any weather-related eventuality. He directed that  24x7 Emergency Joint Control Room having toll free number 01955253522 established at DC office complex shall remain functional from today under the supervision of ADC Kupwara.DC directed Executive Engineer R&B Kupwara, Handwara, Special Sub-Divisions Tangdar and AEE Mechanical Kupwara to deploy the snow clearance machines in their respective jurisdiction. He also directed that the Executive officers of MC Kupwara Handwara and Langate shall keep staff and machines in a state of readiness for timely snow clearance.

DC directed OC Beacon 109 RCC Tikker to ensure deployment of all the snow clearance machines at BKC Road and all boarder roads for timely snow clearance. He said that the OC beacon 99 RC Nowgam and OC 56 RCC Bandipora shall ensure snow clearance on the roads being maintained by them.Executive Engineers of PDD Division Kupwara & Handwara and AEE STD Kupwara to monitor damages to power supply lines besides maintaining buffer stock for timely replacement of damaged transformers and maintenance of HT and LT transmission line.DC also directed CMO Kupwara to ensure the winter arrangements in all medical institutions. The AD Food Supplies Department was asked to ensure availability of ration including K-oil and LPG in the district.ADC Handwara, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karnah and Lolab were directed to establish control rooms at their respective headquarters to address public grievances.
