DDC reviews functioning of I&FC dept in Pulwama

District Development Commissioner, Pulwama Dr. Raghav Langar today chaired a meeting of officers to review the functioning of Irrigation and Flood Control department (I&FC).DDC sought details regarding various ongoing schemes being executed in the district under sponsored schemes, flood protection works and flood management programme.The meeting informed that under minor irrigation schemes six are under execution for which an amount of Rupees 22.54 lacs have been approved against which an amount of 16.65 lacs stands expended. It was given out that under AIBP 14 schemes are under execution in the district while as LIS Karewa of Rabitar, Newa and Parigam requires acquisition of land for construction of sump and pump house at Parigam.DDC directed concerned engineers to ensure the quality of work being executed under these schemes. He stressed on regular repair and maintenance of irrigation channels and of the machinery at the water stations to avoid sudden breakdowns.DDC stressed the need for improving the work culture at the grass root level to provide better services to the people.Joint Director Planning, Executive Engineer I&FC, MID and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
