GNDU Placement Department organized seminar on “IBM Cloud and Blockchain”

The Placement Department of Guru Nanak Dev University organized a seminar on “IBM Cloud and Blockchain” in the auditorium. Dr. Mani Madhukar, Program Manager -  University Relations, IBM India Pvt. Ltd. conducted the seminar. Students of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electronics Technology departments of main campus  and regional campuses participated.Dr. Mani Madhukar told the students about IBM cloud computing, which is a set of cloud computing services for business offered by the IBM.  IBM cloud includes infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) offered through public, private and hybrid cloud delivery  models, in addition to the components that make up those clouds.Blockchain is a mechanism to bring everyone to the highest degree of accountability. He explained the concept  by sharing many examples currently practised in financial world. He told the students that Blockchain is a shared, immutable ledger that facilitates the process of recording  transactions and tracking assets in a business network. He also told that IBM Blockchain training will help students to grasp blockchain fundamentals , how blockchain works and  how to propel business with blockchain.Dr. Amit Chopra, Astt. Placement Officer welcomed the guests on this occasion. Prof. Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean Academic Affairs and Dr.  Pratap Kumar Pati, Coordinator, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation interacted with the IBM official. Dr. Mani Madhukar also had an interaction with Prof. Jaspal Singh  Sandhu, Vice Chancellor. He discussed the various opportunities available with IBM for GNDU students. The visit of senior leadership of multinational companies to the campus  speaks of the quality of GNDU students and high demand in corporate world especially in IT sector. GNDU is now a favourite destination for multinational companies.
