On district magistrate order, SDM seals cracker godown, Surprise inspection at Sangrur shops

As per the directives of District Magistrate Ghanshyam Thori, the district administration is keeping a close watch on the sale, purchase and storage of firecrackers to ensure the public safety. After cancellation of license of cracker godown of Sular Gharat by Deputy Chief Controller of Explosives, Chandigarh, SDM Dirba has been sealed the concerned godown today under the directions of District Magistrate.It is notable that on October 18, 2019 the District Magistrate Sangrur had issued the instructions to SDM Dirba to verify in the case of Gandhi Ram s/o Sham Lal, Pradeep Kumar s/o Gandhi Ram resident of Sular Gharat and Bagerath Ram s/o Sham Lal, whether the Deputy Chief Controller of Explosives, Chandigarh has been cancelled the licenses of concerned persons or not. After getting information about the cancellation of license of Gandhi Ram by Deputy Chief Controller, SDM has been sealed the godown of Gandhi Ram, resident of Sular Gharat. SDM Manjit Singh Cheema said that license of Partap Kumar and Bagerath Ram were not revoked by the Deputy Chief Controller.District Magistrate Mr. Ghanshyam Thori said that storage of fireworks near residential areas would not be tolerated. Firecracker stores are being checked in all sub divisions and action for cancellation of license and No Objection Certificate is also being taken according to norms. Meanwhile, on the order of the District Magistrate, Naib Tehsildar Krishan Kumar Mittal has conducted a checking along with team at shops in market committee Sangrur. Naib Tehsildar said that no crackers were recovered during the inspection at the shops.
