Smart Cat-eye lights to be installed on black spots (Accident Prone Areas) to control road accidents. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan while presiding over a meeting with District Level Road Safety Committee at District Administrative Complex Sector-76 here today. During this Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mrs. Sakshi Sawhney & Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mrs. Aashika Jain were also present.Reiterating his commitment to streamline the traffic flow in the district, the Deputy Commissioner sought information from Police Administration, Municipal Corporation, NHAI & GMADA officials about development works being carried out on Airport road, 3-5 chowk to Phase 11 road, which is being developed as a role model and directed to complete the work in stipulated time frame and said that he in- person will review the work next week.He directed the SDMs to form a joint team under their jurisdiction which may include Police Administration, NHAI, PWD officials to identify the black spots, and action report for prevention of accidents at these spots should be prepared and submitted within a week. 

He directed the officials to ensure construction of speed breakers as per guidelines and to ensure repair of already existing speed- breakers.Mr. Dayalan said that Progressive Punjab Summit is being organized at Indian School of Business (ISB) by Punjab Govt. In this regards, beautification and cleaning work from Airport to IISER and ISB is to be done at the earliest. He also directed to install smart lights on IISER chowk.Earlier, presiding over the meeting of district Health Society, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mrs. Aashika Jain sought information about the working and funds on vaccination program, Jananai Suraksha Yojna, various health welfare schemes, dispensaries & PHCs. She directed the health officials to extend the benefits of health care facilities and welfare schemes to the grass route level.During the meeting SDM Kharar Mr. Himanshu Jain, SDM Dera Bassi Mrs. Pooja Grewal, SDM Mohali Mr. Jagdeep Saigal, Secretary RTA Mr. Sukhwinder Kumar along with other officials were present.Caption: Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan presiding over a meeting of District Level Road Safety Committee.
