Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting with concerned officers to review the arrangements for Republic Day, 2020 celebration. Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, SSP Jammu, Tejinder Singh, Chief Engineer M&RE, Sudhir Gupta, Joint Director Information Naresh Kumar, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Madan Lal besides senior officers of Army, CRPF, Air Force, PHE, PDD, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Fire services, Education and other line departments attended the meeting.It was informed that the main function would be held at M A M stadium Jammu.Divisional commissioner took a comprehensive review of arrangements being made and stressed on better synergy between the concerned departments for the smooth conduct of the National event. He had threadbare discussion on security arrangements, traffic management, parking, contingents, cultural Items, Display of Tableau, Transportation, sanitation and cleanliness, water and power supply, medicare.Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon all agencies to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day. PHE and PDD Departments were asked to ensure availability of safe drinking water and uninterrupted power supply. Health and Fire Services was directed to make available sufficient number of Ambulances and Fire Tenders at the venue. PHE was asked to provide sufficient pipes for barricades besides Youth Services and Sports was asked to provide the list of contingents by November 15.The Div Com asked the concerned officers to ensure that the themes of tableaus would be based on Swachh Bharat, Say no to Single Use Plastic, water harvesting and other government schemes.A committee headed by DC Jammu was also constituted for finalizing Display of tableau, cultural items and other arrangements.DC Jammu was also directed to hold regular meetings with concerned officers for seeking updates of arrangements.
