DC Baramulla reviews functioning of Revenue Deptt, winter preparedness

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting here at Dak Bungalow to review various matters pertaining to the smooth functioning of Revenue department.Meeting was attended by ADC Baramulla Mohammad Ahsan Mir, ADC Sopore Ashiq Lilly, ACR Mohammad Rafiq Lone, SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned functionaries of Revenue department.On the occasion, DC issued several directions to the officers asking them to identify the encroached land and initiate necessary measures with regard to its retrieval. H also directed the concerned to install landline communication in every tehsil office so that prompt communication is established.

Dr Itoo also directed to identify the vacant positions of Numberdars and Chowkidars so that such positions could be filled in as early as possible. He also emphasized to involve local representatives and other stakeholders to eradicate the so that rising menace of drug addiction.Later, the DC chaired an officers meeting to review the arrangements in view of forthcoming winter season. He stressed upon the concerned officers to make requisite arrangements well in advance so that the people may not face any difficulty in winter season. He directed them to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply during the schedule hours. He also exhorted to keep men and machinery ready so that any eventuality could be tackled smoothly.Dr Itoo directed the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to ensure adequate stocking of essential commodities including ration supply, LPG, Kerosene etc especially in the far flung and remote areas of the district.
