State level function to mark parkash utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki ji to be held on October 13 at DAVIET

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the district administration would make elaborate arrangements for the state level function to be held for commemorating the parkash utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki ji on October 13.Chairing a meeting here at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner said that the state level function would be held at the DAVIET college at 10 am on Sunday. He said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain   Amarinder Singh along with his Cabinet colleagues and other dignitaries would pay floral tributes to Bhagwan Valmiki ji during the function. Mr Sharma said that foolproof arrangements would be made for making this mega event a huge success.The Deputy Commissioner said that the state level function would be a humble and befitting tribute by the state government to Bhagwan Valmiki ji, who had preached the message of equality and universal brotherhood on this sacred land. He further said that this function would be instrumental in perpetuating the rich legacy of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji besides showcasing the teachings, life and philosophy of this great Spiritual ambassador. Mr Sharma said that the major thrust of the function was to preserve our rich cultural heritage for the future generations till eternity.The Deputy Commissioner said that Assistant Commissioner Grievances along with District Development and Panchayat Officer and Block Development officers would head the reception committee adding that venue committee would be headed by Sub Divisional Magistrate I with Superintendent Engineer Municipal Corporation, District Mandi Officer and Executive Engineer PWD as its members. Likewise, he said that traffic management, security and law and order would be overseen by the Police department , Health issue by Medical Committee headed by Civil Surgeon , uninterrupted power supply would be ensured by POWERCOM and cleanliness of the venue would be ensured by the Municipal Corporation.Mr Sharma asked all the officers to perform their duty diligently to ensure that this event was observed in an unsurpassed manner.On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Kulwant Singh and Mr Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr Rahul Sindhu, Mr Sanjiv Sharma and Dr Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Dr Shayari Malhotra, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mr Harcharan Singh, District Education Officer Mr Harinder Pal Singh, District Mandi Officer Mr Varinder Khera and others were also present.
