Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar along with Chief Secretary, BVR Subarahmanyam today visited Kulgam to take stock of the developmental and security scenario in the district.  They also interacted with scores of public delegations to have a firsthand account of issues and grievances being faced by them.Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad  Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police Atal Goel also accompanied the dignitaries.District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz  Bhat briefed the Advisor and Chief  Secretary about the governance and public delivery system besides status of ongoing development projects, implementation of welfare schemes, scenario of Health, Education,  Agriculture, Horticulture, R&B, PMGSY,PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Rural Development Department, Social Welfare, and Sports.The DDC informed the meeting regarding the  availability of essential supplies, including winter stocking of ration, functioning of internet kiosks and facilitation centre for students, government departments and e-tendering  which is operational at DC Office Complex.It was given out that against availability of Rs 54.31 crore under CAPEX budget 2019-20, Rs 42.32 crore were expended. The meeting  was informed that annual milk production in the district was 88100 tons while as under PM-KISAN Rs 13.82 crore were released through DBT among beneficiaries. Under  Ayushman Bharat 44282 beneficiaries have been registered and 39420 Cards have been issued among beneficiaries, the meeting was informed. Later, several delegations from  various villages interacted with the Advisor and the Chief Secretary wherein they projected their grievances and demands.A delegation from Achtal demanded concrete flood  protection bund at River Vishow in their village, while as a delegation from Kulgam demanded construction of marriage hall.Similarly, a delegation from Manzgam  Damhal  demanded Degree College and  power receiving station and  extension of Aharbal water canal. A delegation from village Nillow demanded augmentation of drinking water supply  in their area.Several other delegations also interacted with Advisor and Chief Secretary which included Transport Association Kulgam, Fruit Growers and Traders Association  Kulgam besides other delegations who apprised them about various issues and grievances.The officers were directed to accelerate the pace of work on various development  projects for their completion within the stipulated timeframe.Earlier, Advisor Kumar and Chief Secretary chaired a meeting to review security scenario of the district.
