Fire guts 11 houses in Dunikhud, Dalgate

Fire has gutted eleven residential houses, with seven houses completely damaged in Dunikhud Buchwara area of Dalgate, Srinagar.According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted in the incident, with minor injuries to several residents. An official said that the cause of the fire was not known, however, the inhabitants said it was due to the electric short circuit.Initially, the fire engulfed few houses, however, it spread like wild fire after four domestic gas cylinders exploded from the houses.Sumaira Akthar, Corporator ward 4 (Dalgate) demanded immediate compensation to the victim families. She appealed Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and Governor led administration to provide compensation to the victim families. (KNO)
