Union Joint Secy reviews functioning of YSS Deptt

Union Joint Secretary, Youth, Services and Sports, L S Singh, today chaired a meeting to discuss functioning of the J&K YSS Department here today.Secretary, Youth, Services and Sports, J&K, Sarmad Hafeez, was also present at the meeting.The meeting reviewed the ongoing works on various stadiums and other sports infrastructure activities being executed under PMDP programme.In order to give impetus to basic sports infra in J&K, various works under languishing projects have been taken up by the Department. In this regard work on Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar would be completed by March, 2020. Similarly, construction work of M. A. Stadium would be completed by November 2019.The Union Joint Secretary was also briefed about various ongoing sports projects being executed for the development of sports activities in J&K.The Joint Secretary assured that the Government of India would provide liberal funding to build top-notch sports infrastructure in J&K so that energy of the youth is channelized in a positive direction.Director General YSS, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Secretary Sports Council, Dr Naseem Choudhary, Deputy Director, SAI, Ajit Singh besides senior officers of different wings of YSS were also present in the meeting.
