Rajinder Singh takes over as Chairman Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in presence of Aruna Chaudhary

Protection of child rights is an article of faith with State Government, says Social Security, Women & Child Development Minister

“The Punjab Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is fully committed to work in the direction of protecting the basic human rights of children who are future of the nation.” These views were expressed today at the Forest Complex, Sector-68, Mohali by the Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary.On the occasion, Mr. Rajinder Singh (An ex IPS Officer) assumed charge as the Chairman of the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in the presence of Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary.The minister on the occasion congratulating the new Chairman said that the protection of children from abuse, violence and exploitation of any kind is an article of faith with the State Government which is engaged 24x7 to ensure safety of the future of nation. The minister also divulged that the child helpline 1098 is operational all over the country on which the information regarding the children being exploited can be shared.The newly appointed Chairman Mr. Rajinder Singh on the occasion thanked the Chief Minister and the Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary for reposing faith in him and assured that he would always work hard and dedicate himself for the welfare of the children and ensure protection of their rights.Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included the Principal Secretary Social Security, Women and Child Development Mrs. Raji P. Shrivastava, Secretary of the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Mrs. Amandeep Kaur (PCS), Senior Congress leader Mr. Ashok Chaudhary, Deputy Director of the commission Mr. Rajwinder Singh Gill and the Chairperson Punjab State Women Commission Manisha Gulati.
