J&K Print Media Association held a meeting at Press Club Jammu

A meeting of J&K Print Media Association was held today under the president ship of Sh. Ravi Khajuria, its President at Press Club, Jammu wherein majority of its members participated. A detailed deliberations were made by the members on the various issues pertaining to the Association. Firstly members thanked the Director, DIPR J&K for taking keen interest for releasing of timely payments with regard to advertisements to the newspapers and wish that DIPR will act accordingly in future. Sh. Ravi Khajuria, President requested the Authorities of DIPR particularly officers at the him of affairs at Jammu office for releasing of sufficient advertisements to the newspapers so that they can meet up their day to day expenses besies livelihood. He stressed that at least 2000 cms advertisement to the colored newspapers with 12 pages (with 2 pages colour) 1500 cms to the newspapers with 8 pages (with 2 color pages); 1000 cms to the newspapers with 8 pages (Black and White) and minimum 500 cms to the weekly newspapers.Mr. S.C. Goswami, General Secretary of the Association recalled the meeting which was held with Hon’ble Advisor Sh. K. Vijay Kumar last year wherein a charter of demands was submitted to the Hon’ble Advisor by the Association with the request for early redressal of their demands particularly Press Colony for Jammu based media persons and other one was new enrolments of accredited members besides other demands. But it is very sad state of affairs that nothing concrete has come out till date. He urged the Government for taking early decision with regard to our demands. Prominent who participated in the meeting were Sh. Jagdish Choudhary, Romesh Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Sandeep Singh, Sushil Bali, Nishchal Sawhney, Jameshed Akhtar, Shashi Verma, Bhanu Langar, O.P. Sharma, Manoj Kumar, Dinesh Bhalla, Mohan Lal, Rakesh Gupta, Harsh Kumar Gutpa etc.
