CEO directs DEOs to gear up for poll process for Bye-Elections

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Devesh Kumar held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officers (DEOs) and Superintendents of Police of Kangra and Sirmour districts, through Video Conferencing here today.He directed the DEOs to gear up for poll process and to monitor Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations, depositing of Arms, seizure of liquor and cash for smooth conduction of Bye elections in Dharmshala and Pachhad (SC) Assembly Constituencies.Devesh Kumar also issued instructions to the District authorities to set up the barriers with CCTV installation at inter district and interstate borders to monitor the movement of illegal liquor and cash.Later, CEO held a meeting with the Nodal Officer of Income Tax Department for the Bye-Elections and give directions pertaining to submission of daily report of cash seizure, reports of special incidents to the Chief Electoral Office.Additional Chief Electoral Officers Rupali Thakur and Dalip Negi, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Harbans Dhiman and other officers of State Election Department were also present in the meeting.
