Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab Dr. S. Karuna Raju today held a meeting with representative of different political parties regarding ensuing by poll 2019 .During the  meeting Dr. Raju informed the political parties regarding form 26 and form A&B in detail. He said that the affidavit in form 26 and form A&B have to be filed latest by 3:00  P.M. on the last date of filing nominations. If columns have been left blank in the affidavit in form 26, Candidate should be asked to submit an affidavit complete in all  respect, latest by the time fixed for commencement of scrutiny of nominations. Failure to submit revised affidavit complete in all respects, even after reminder by RO will  be a ground for rejection of the nomination paper.He further said that Oath has to be taken after filling the nomination paper and before the date fixed for the scrutiny and  certified extract of electoral roll can be filed up to the time of scrutiny. The political parties were informed about various aspects of election process including the Model  Code of Conduct (MCoC), EVM/VVPAT and the Nomination Process. Besides, he also brought home other matters related to elections.CEO said that MCoC has come  into force with the announcement of election schedule and should be adhered to in the letter and spirit. It was informed that each candidate is permitted to make an  expenditure upto Rs. 28  lac subject to submission of a complete record of all the transactions to the concerned Returning Officer.He further informed about procedure  for getting permits for vehicles to be used for electioneering and for star campaigner during .He urged them to go through the ECI guidelines carefully for the conduct of  free and fair elections.Dr. S. Karuna Raju stated that In order to facilitate monitoring of election expenditure, each candidate is required to open a separate bank  account exclusively for the purpose of election expenditure.He  has asked all the political parties to not utilize single-use plastic material for electioneering and  encouraged them to use eco-friendly material during the Polls as per directions of Election Commission of India and Kerala high court's decision and traffic rules must be  followed during campaigning.
