Minister Of Food And Civil Supplies Dedicates New Tennis Court To District’s Residents

The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Punjab Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu inaugurated the international level tennis court here at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium today. The six-layer synthetic court is the first tennis court of its own kind of the public sector in the Punjab, which is developed with a cost of Rs 32 lakhs.Addressing on this occasion, Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that this tennis court would prove a boon for the players of the district and this academy will prepare international level players, who would glorify their state and country.  Minister called upon the youth of the district to get the maximum advantage of this facility. The announcement of this court was made by the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies during his visit to the district on January 26, 2019. It was constructed by the department of Rural Development and Panchayats under the supervision of the District Olympic Association. This tennis court is repleted with fencing and floodlights and coaches have been deployed for the training.On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. M K Aravind Kumar said that the registration of the players for the tennis academy has been started on the website meramuktsarmeranis.com/english/tennis and the players can also visit the office of the District Olympic Association at the District Administrative Complex.

Earlier talking to the media persons,  Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that the State Government led by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, is making all arrangements for the procurement of paddy, so that farmers have not face any problem to sale their crop. He said that the government is also coming up with a One Time Settlement scheme for the shellers and milling policy is also being issued soon.Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that initiatives taken by the Punjab Government to eliminate the VIP culture were being implemented across the country. He said that the Central Government and other State Governments were also formulating policies and rules in line with the steps taken to end the VIP culture.Earlier, here Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Waring, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab, also mentioned about the efforts being made by the State Government for Sri Muktsar Sahib. Former MLA, Karan Kaur Brar, thanked the Punjab government for the tennis court.On this occasion, District President of the Congress, Mr. Harcharan Singh Brar, Former MLA Mr. Sukhdarshan Singh Marahar, Mr. Amanpreet Singh Bhatti, Former District President Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Mr. Gursant Singh Brar, Mr. Subhdeep Singh Bittu, SDM Mr. Randeep Singh Heer, Nodal Officer cum District Welfare Officer Mr. Jagmohan Singh Mann, District Sports Officer Anindervir Kaur, Mr. Rajesh Grover were also present.
