Khanna MLA Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli today met Pakistan’s former MLA Mr Baldev Kumar at Khanna, here, and took information about atrocities on minorities in Pakistan from him.It is pertinent to mention that for the last around one month, Mr Baldev Kumar, who is a former MLA of Pakistan PM Mr Imran Khan’s party, has been residing at his in-law’s house at Khanna (district Ludhiana) along with his wife and children. He has also appealed the union government to grant them political asylum.During the meeting at Baldev Kumar’s in-law’s house in Khanna today, Mr Gurkirat Singh Kotli interacted with him and appealed to the union government to handle Mr Baldev Kumar’s case of political asylum on priority basis and on sympathetic grounds. He said that by doing so, the communal harmony amongst different communities would strengthen and India’s reputation would grow amongst international community.Mr Kotli said that the entire world knows about the murder of human rights in Pakistan, due to which it is very difficult for minorities to live peacefully there. He also assured Mr Baldev Kumar of all possible support. Khanna Nagar Council president Mr Vikas Mehta and several prominent personalities were also present on the occasion.
