Dr. Shrikant Baldi assumes charge of Chief Secretary

Dr. Shrikant Baldi, IAS (Himachal Pradesh,1985 batch) assumed the charge of new Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh, here today.Dr. Baldi has a vast experience as an administrator and has served the state on various important posts during his service period of 34 years. He has deep knowledge of the working of various departments, especially financial matters.After assuming the charge, Dr. Shrikant Baldi said that the state government was resolute to provide transparent governance and he would contribute his best to fulfil the priorities, policies and programmes of the government for development of the state and welfare of the general public.The Chief Secretary said that the first priority was to make the Global Investor's Meet a big success which is being held at Dharamshala in the month of November. He said though entire world was facing the challenge due to slow economy, however, despite that the Himachal government has decided to go ahead with this Meet as it firmly believes that bringing investment was must for generating revenue to the state exchequer and ample employment opportunities to the youth of the state.The senior bureaucrats, officers, employees associations, public representatives and general people congratulated Dr. Shrikant Baldi in his office as assuming the charge of Chief Secretary and extended their good wishes.Dr. Baldi has served as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation, Principal Secretary, Education, Rural Development, Secretary Power, MD HRTC, Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Solan, Director Information & Public Relations and Primary Education, MD HPMC and held various other key posts.He has also written various papers and reports like employment generation and poverty alleviation through development of off-season vegetable and floriculture in Solan district, natural disaster management and control in India, Emergency relief Manual of Himachal Pradesh, empowering financial management in HRTC etc.
