Mukesh Kumari and Manpreet Singh becomes guiding light for unemployed youth

Punjab skill development mission has been proving very useful in providing employment opportunities to unemployed youth by imparting skill development training to them. Recent example of the mission outcome are Mukesh Kumari from Mohali and Manpreet Singh from Kharar, who not only became self reliant after getting training of skill development courses but also serving as guiding light for other unemployed youth in the district.Mukesh Kumari D/o Mr. Hari ram said that she has completed 3 months course of makeup artist from Shelters, which is training partner under Punjab Skill Development Mission and is now running a saloon at sunny enclave and earning Rs. 20 to 30 thousand per month.Telling his tale Manpreet Singh S/O Jaswant Singh Swaraj Nagar Kharar said that he has also finished six months short term course on photography from Shelters and started working with a photography production company. Now he is earning Rs. 30 to 40 thousand from videography and photography.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Amardeep Singh Bains said that with an objective of improving the economical health of youngsters in the state, free trainings are being provided by Punjab Skill Development Mission. The main objective of skill development is to make the youth self reliant by imparting training on vocational courses so that they could become helping hand to their families. He said that apart from this, free training on vocational courses is also provided to the handicapped so that they could not feel themselves as a burden rather become independent. He further said that total 845 candidates have been trained for various courses under Punjab Skill Development Mission and out of which 411 trained candidates got job opportunities in various firms and presently 862 candidates are getting training on various courses.Similarly 234 handicapped have been trained and out of which 90 has got job opportunities by various firms. He appealed the youngsters to take maximum benefits of vocational courses being offered under skill development mission and become self reliant.
