Advisor Farooq Ahmed Khan lays foundation stone of multi-purpose complex at GCW parade

Advisor to Governor Farooq Khan today laid foundation stone of a Multi- purpose Building complex here at Government College for Women, parade.The proposed complex will have first two levels for parking, two storeys for Classroom and a Lab complex.Vice Chancellor University of Jammu Prof Manoj K Dhar, Secretary Higher Education Talat Parvez Rohella, College Principal Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, Principals of various City Colleges and Staff of the College.Meanwhile, the Advisor also inaugurated the newly constructed reading Room at the Library block. A documentary depicting various achievements of the college over the years was also screened on the ocassion. Apart from this, E-content along with the MOU which was recently procured from CEC of UGC was formally handed over to the Secretary Higher Education by the Advisor for onward transmission to different colleges of J&K and Leh, for the benefit of the students. The E-content contains the written material, Video lectures, experiments, FAQS and MCQS in aid conversion of traditional classroom into interactive one.The Advisor Khan appreciated the efforts put in by the College administration to make it one of the best colleges of the state.The Vice Chancellor University of Jammu also lauded the efforts of the Higher Education Department in providing E- contents to the students.The Secretary Higher Education apprised the  Advisor about various developments in Higher Education Department.Earlier, the Principal of the college welcomed the guests and apprised them of the various developments undertaken by the college. Prof. Sonia Khajuria presented vote of thanks.
