Finalizes arrangements for smooth conduct of mourning processions

The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganie today conducted an extensive tour of various Imam Barghas to take stock of arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of Majalis and mourning processions during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram.The DDC was accompanied by ADC Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, SE Hydraulics, GA Beigh, ACR, Zaffar Shawl, CMO Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, SDMs and Officers of PDD, PHE, R&B, Revenue and Municipality.During his visit to the Markazi Imam Baraghar Budgam, he directed the concerned officer to ensure lifting of all waste and dumped construction material on war footing basis and proper cleanliness of lawns, parks and other surrounding around the Imam Bargha. The concerned was also directed to ensure washing of carpets and coloring of footpath tiles at Imam Bargha.The DDC also visited the Imam Bargha Bemina, Markazi Imam Bargha Magam and Baba Mohalla Magam and took stock of arrangements and directed the concerned to ensure that all the required arrangements including uninterrupted electricity and water supply are put in place in all Shia dominated areas. He issued specific instructions for restoration of all the defunct street lights around the Imam Barghas ahead of beginning of the holy month.
Concerned PDD officer was directed to ensure installation of street lights at all lanes and bylanes in Shia dominated areas. He also stressed on filling of potholes and surface levelling of all lanes and bylanes from where the Muharram processions will take place. He asked all the SDMs to personally visit the Imam Barghas in their jurisdictions to ensure that required facilities are provided to the residents.The DC also met various public delegations and listened to their demands and assured to address all genuine issues soon amicably.During his visit to Yagipora Magam, the DDC assured that construction work of a bridge shall be started soon as demanded by the people there. The DDC also visited Sub-District Hospital Magam and took stock of the health facilities being provided to the patients. He inspected various wards and met patients to enquire about the health facilities being provided there. He stressed on punctuality of doctors and para-medical staff and directed CMO Budgam to take stringent action against the absentees.Later, the DDC convened a meeting of officers to review the Muharram arrangements at Conference Hall Budgam. He directed all concerned to put in place all the necessary arrangements required during the holy month of Muharram in the Shia dominated localities. He asked for special focus on sanitation, timely supply of ration, firewood, interrupted power, water supply during the holy month of Muharram.
