“The Punjab Government is making special efforts in the Technical Education and Skill Development sector in order to provide jobs as well as self employment avenues to the youth of Punjab.” This was disclosed here today by the Technical Education and Industrial Training & Employment Generation Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on the occasion of handing over appointment letters to the 52 newly recruited clerks on regular basis.Mr. Channi further said that that the Punjab Government has started four new it is at Maloud in Ludhiana, Adampur in Jalandhar, Singhpura in Ropar and Manakpur Sharif in S.A.S. Nagar and the admissions in these have started for this academic session. He also said that another institution—Sri Guru Gobind Singh Skill University is coming up at Sri Chamkaur Sahib. Exhorting the newly recruited clerks to discharge their duties with dedication, Mr. Channi said that Rs. 100 crore are being spent on the modernization of the technical education infrastructure by the Punjab Government. He also divulged that a letter has been sent to the Subordinate Services Selection Board to make recruitments to the posts of 89 Clerks, 2 Steno Typists and 3 Drivers in the technical education department.  Divulging further, he elaborated that Thapar University, Patiala is initiating the process to recruit 423 Craft Inspectors, 9 Senior Assistants, 24 Hostel Superintendents, 17 Storekeepers and 1 Librarian in the Technical Education Department.Among others present on the occasion included Director Mr. Praveen Kumar Thind, Additional Director Mrs. Daljit Kaur and other officers of the department.
