12000 Jobs To Be Offered During Six Job Melas In Jalandhar

In order to provide jobs to the unemployed youth under state government’s ambitious ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar scheme’, the district administration would soon organize Mega Job fairs to offer 12000 jobs to the youth in Jalandhar.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh said that six mega job fairs would be held in the district during the months of September. He said that on September 19 Job fair would be held at Shahpur Campus of CT Polytechnic, on September 21 at Government ITI Mehatpur (Nakodar), on September 24 at DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, on September 26 at DAV University, on September 28 at Lyallpur Khalsa College and on September 30 at District Industry Centre. Mr. Kulwant Singh said that during these job fairs 12000 jobs would be offered to the youth to ensure that they were gainfully employed.

The Deputy Commissioner envisioned that mega job fairs being organized by the state government would act as a catalyst to open new vistas of employment for the youth of the district. He said that this was a noble initiative by the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to provide job to every household under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna. Mr. Kulwant Singh said that in this first of its kind initiative the industrial giants would be visiting the campuses of colleges to select youth for job.The Deputy Commissioner said that these job fairs would open number of avenues for the youth to be gainfully employed for living a life with dignity and pride. He said that the companies would select these students as per their need in due course of time. Mr. Kulwant Singh said that it would serve two purposes of providing jobs to needy youth of district on one hand and providing skilled manpower to cope up with the needs of local industry on the other.On the occasion Deputy Director Employment Generation Mr. Jaswant Rai and others were also present.
