Additional Chief Secretary stresses on strengthening network of BCs in rural areas

The state level co-ordination committee (SLCC) meeting on non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) for the state of Himachal Pradesh was held here today under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Anil Khachi. The meeting was convened by Regional Director of Reserve Bank of India for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Rachna Dixit.Anil Khachi emphasized on strengthening the network of the Banking Correspondence (BCs) and enhancing their services of in rural areas of the state. He said that the services of BCs should also be taken to making bank transactions through micro ATMs. He also stressed to make all efforts for making the state free from financial crimes.He said that more workshops/trainings should be conducted in the state to make people aware about the financial crimes.It was informed in the meeting that the RBI has so far conducted 15 awareness programmes in nine districts of the state during this year besides, five training workshops in Shimla, Kullu and Mandi districts. The SEBI also conducted 148 awareness programmes during this time.Regional Director Rachna Dixit detailed about the supervisor actions taken by the RBI, Chandigarh against NBFCs and initiatives taken by the RBI.Principal Secretary Law Yaswant Singh Chogal, A.D.G (CID) Ashok Tiwari, I.G (Crime and CID) Gyaneshwar Singh, General Manager RBI K.C Anand and Dr. D.P Panda and other senior officers of RBI, SEBI and various departments of the state government were present in the meeting.
