Virender Kanwar demands early approval of funds for Himachal

Rural development, Panchayati Raj and Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar met Union Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Giriraj Singh at New Delhi on Tuesday and urged him to give earlier approval to the projects of the state worth Rs. 434 crore, which are lying pending with the government of India. Virender Kanwar apprised the Union Minister that the state government has submitted six big projects of animal husbandry department amounting to Rs. 434 crore for approval of the Centre which also includes Rs. 180 crore semen lab. He demanded to give earlier approval to Rs. 9.13 crore project which aims at promotion of hilly breed animals in the state.Apart from this, he also raised the issue of setting up a pig breeding institute in the state at the cost of Rs. 59 crores under the National Live Stock Mission. He also took up the issue of compensation for the damage to the trout fish farm, Patlikuhal in district Kullu last year due to heavy rains.  The Union Minister assured that appropriate action would be taken in this matter.He also urged the Union Minister to lay foundation stone of Murrah buffalo breeding farm at Barnoh in Una district which is proposed to be constructed by spending Rs. 10 crore.Later, he also met Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and requested for releasing Rs. 590 crore for watershed projects in Himachal Pradesh for the financial year 2019-20.The Union Minister assured that there would be no paucity of funds for implementing watershed projects in the state.
