Checking Of Fruits And Vegetables Held Under Tandarust Punjab Mission

In its special drive under  ‘Tandarust Punjab’ mission to check the artificial ripening of the fruits and quality of vegetables in the markets, a team of mandi board undertook inspection in wholesale fruits and vegetable market in Maqsudan.The inspection was held early in the morning to check whether the fruits were ripened artificially by using chemicals like calcium carbide, which is very harmful for human consumption. The team also checked vegetables being sold in the market. The team’s members warned the traders that this drive would be carried in the coming days too and stern action would be taken against them if any sort of irregularities found in it. They said that under the ‘Tandarust Punjab’ Mission, the district administration is committed to check the sale of spurious or adulterated food items that causes irreparable damage to human health.
