Releases Potential Linked Credit Plan 2019-20 For Jalandhar District

The Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday lauded the contribution made by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the rural and agriculture development of the state and the district.Launching the credit projections for the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) 2019-20 for Jalandhar district here, the Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to the NABARD for its fulsome support for ensuring the overall development of the district and prosperity of its people especially in the rural sector through its flagship programs and schemes.However, he said that still a lot more needed to be done particularly for improving the economic lot of majority of unprivileged sections of the society residing in villages as they were grappling with penury and living in extreme pathetic conditions without basics civic amenities, education and healthcare facilities. 

Meanwhile, Lead Bank Manager (LDM) Mr. PS Bhatia and District Development Manager (DDM) NABARD Mr. LK Mehra informed ADC that PLP represents an effort at making projections of credit requirements in different sectors in the district taking into account the long term potential, availability of infrastructure, marketing support, credit absorption capacity, and other strengths and weaknesses of the credit delivery system at the district level.The priority sector credit potential in Jalandhar district under various sectors have been assessed by NABARD at Rs. 14471.80 crores for the financial year 2019-20.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC (G) Mr Jasbir Singh, AGM RBI Mr. Bimal Sharma, Assistant Nodal Officer SVEEP Mr Surjit Lal, Ms Nirmaljeet Kaur, Director RUDSET Mr. Subhash Yadav, Syndicate Bank Manager Mr Jagdish Kumar and others.
