DC Directs Officers To Ensure Early Completion Of Work Under MPLAD

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today directed all the departments to expedite the various development works for giving a major facelift to the district.Presiding  over a meeting to review the ongoing works here at District Administrative Complex today, the Deputy Commissioner said that projects worth several hundred crores were going  on in the district which need to be accomplished very soon.He said that these works were of utmost importance to give major fillip to the overall development of the district. Mr Sharma categorically said that special thrust must be laid on ensuring the quality of these works so that these works could be completed at the earliest.The Deputy  Commissioner said that ongoing work on construction of College at Shahkot, construction of link roads, upgradation of school infrastructure and others need to be expedited. Likewise, he said that the work on construction of college at Boota Mandi must also be started at the earliest and completed soon. 

Mr Sharma also said that work on cleaning of drains in the district must also be accomplished before the advent of monsoon season.He said that the officers must accord top  priority to completion of these works to facilitate the people in a big way.He said that the sole motive of issuing grants for these works was to ensure that people could be  benefitted from it. They said that any sort of callousness in completion of these works was totally unwarranted and undesirable.Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to  immediately complete the work and submit its utilisation certificates , so that fresh grants could be issued to people for development works. He asked the heads of all departments  to personally supervise the development works so that the projects could be completed in given time.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Jasbir Singh, District  Program Officer Mr Amarjeet Singh Bhullar, BDPO Mr Ram Lubhaya and others were present.
