Cops Seize Sharp Edged Weapons, Looted Money Of Rs 1.70 Lakh

The Rural Police on Monday have busted a gang of robbers and seized sharp-edged weapons, bikes and looted money worth Rs 1.70 lakh. The accused have been identified as Ravinder Kumar of Ball Hukami village, Jagjiwan Kumar, Sukhjiwan Kumar of Mirpur village, Shivam of Tandana Mohalla in Nakodar, Harish Kumar of Karishan Nagar Mohalla, Jatinder of Mandiala village, Hardev Kumar of Arjun Nagar in Nakodar and Amarjeet Singh of Village Talwandi Salem. Addressing a press conference,  Senior Superintendent Of Police (SSP) Mr Navjot Singh Mahal said that CIA head Inspector Mr Shiv Kumar and SHO Nakodar City Police Station Mr Mohammad Jamil received a tip-off that above mentioned accused persons are hatching a conspiracy to loot a bank in an abandoned room near Guru Nanak National College. Mr Mahal said following which the team raided the spot and arrested the accused with weapons, the cash money worth Rs 1.70 lakh and three bikes. He added that the accused have confessed to robbing Rs 2.50 lakh from Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Rs 45000 from Prince Kohli and Activa scooter. SSP said the accused persons have been booked under various sections of IPC and would be taken on remand for further interrogation.
