Ropar Police Brakes The Supply Chain Of Drugs & Weapons In Punjab

Ropar police has broken the supply chain of drugs and weapons in Punjab with the arrest of two kingpins - Ricky (30) of Gaziabad (Haryana) and Umesh (40) of Rishikesh (Uttrakhand). The duo was arrested late last evening in Ropar by the police. Three weapons including an imported 30 bore revolver have been recovered from them. Upon searching their Pajero SUV, 200 gms of Chitta hidden in the side door cavity has also been found.The other two weapons are 315 bore country made pistols (single shot) and some cartilages. The duo owns two more luxury vehicles.Ricky (30) has also worked in Jalandhar for two years as an immigration agent. He stayed in Jalandhar with his relatives and duped people to the tune of Rs. 1.5 Crores. Starting from Delhi, this duo spread their illegal supply in Jalandhar, Mohali, Ropar and surrounding areas.

They used to procure chitta and weapon from Delhi and depending on demand use their conduits for delivery in various parts of the state. Rahul of Dwarka and two Nigerian migrants are their main suppliers. The duo, both of them undergraduates, have been selling drugs in Gurgaon and Gaziabad area for last 7-8 years. It was after moving from Delhi to Jalandhar that Ricky started selling drugs and weapons in nearby areas. Police has identified several people in Jalandhar, Mohali and Ropar who were his regular conduits. Ropar Police SSP, Swapan Sharma shared, "Forensic examination of electronic devices is under way and more arrests are likely in next few days."Off late Ropar police has relentlessly carried on the crackdown on gangsters and criminals. It was in early April that Ropar Police arrested gangster Mandeep alias Manna.
