Asserting that he will win with a margin of over two lakh votes, the Congress candidate from Shri Anandpur Sahib Manish Tewari stormed Nawnshahar, Balachaur and Garhshankar areas with massive roadshows on the last day of campaigning today.Signing of his campaign for May 19 General Elections from Shri Anadpur Sahib, Tewari held separate roadshows in each of the three assembly segments falling within the parliamentary constituency on foot and in vehicles and interacted with people on the way.Talking to reporters along the sidelines of the roadshows, Tewari expressed confidence with a comfortable margin from here. Asked about the margin, he said, it may go well beyond two lakh votes. He said, during the campaign he had found overwhelming support of the party leaders, workers and common people. “Wherever I went, I was received with open arms and it is my commitment and my duty to reciprocate and acknowledge it by serving each and every person of this parliamentary segment”, he said, while adding, “this is just the beginning of a long lasting relationship with the people over here”.

Tewari claimed that the winds of change had already started blowing both in Shri Anandpur Sahib constituency as well as at the national level, where it will be a Congress led UPA-III that will form the government. “These elections will end an era of authoritarian dictatorship of a single person, who did not bother even about his own colleagues in the party and the government, not to speak of anyone else”, he said, while adding, on May 23, democracy will be restored in the country.Tewari expressed his special gratitude to the local MLAs, ministers and other district office bearers including DCC presidents and general secretaries, local councilors, panchs and sarpacnhes saying, without whom the campaigning would not have been so successful. “All of your gave your best and have been fighting this election as your own”, he said, adding, “your unflinching support gave me added confidence and energy to work harder during these days”.Appealing people to come out to vote in full numbers on the election day, the Congress leader said, they must not forego this opportunity that comes only once in five years and entails upon everyone a responsibility towards the country and the party. “Let us not waste this golden opportunity”, he remarked.
