Additional Chief Secretary meets Ambassador of New Zealand and Oman

Additional Chief Secretary Industries Manoj Kumar along with Vivek Mahajan, Deputy Resident Commissioner and Representative from CII met the Ambassador of New Zealand Her Excellency Joanna Kempkers and Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman Hamed Bin Saifbin Abdulziz AI Rwahi at New Delhi and apprised them about the Global Investors Meet being held in September, 2019 at Dharamshala. He requested the Ambassadors for sending ministerial and business delegation for participating and exploring mutual business opportunities and strategic collaborations besides becoming a Partner Country for the Global investors Meet.Manoj Kumar informed them that the event will showcase the potential of State of Himachal Pradesh for investment in various sectors such as Agri Business, Food Processing & Post Harvest Technology, Tourism Hospitality & Civil Aviation, Wellness, Healthcare and Ayush (Indian system of Medicines), Hydro & Renewable Energy, Manufacturing & Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate & Urban Development, Transport infrastructure & Logistics; information Technology, ITES & Electronics, Education & Skill Development. The ambassador of New Zealand actively participated in the discussion and shared her interest in the event. She apprised that New Zealand is already implementing one World Bank led project to improve apple industries in Himachal Pradesh. She further apprised that most of the enterprises in New Zealand are either small or medium except one big milk cooperative by the name Fonterra Milk. Its expertise in the field of dairy may be used in the state of Himachal Pradesh. She further suggested that there is one private company by the name AJ Hackett in the field of Bunjee Jumping. The possibility of this company to invest in Himachal Pradesh may be explored subject to strict enforcement of health and safety standards, she added.The ambassador of Oman expressed his gratitude for the invite and assured to explore avenues for investment and that the matter will be taken up with quarters concerned and may even visit Shimla.
