CM For Short Term Army Training To Youth

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Command Lt. General Sanjiv Chhachra, AVSM, VSM, today called on the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal  and appreciated the performance of the students of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institution Mohali in written exam of National Defense Academy (NDA).

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office informed that taking part in the deliberations, Mr. Badal apprised the Lt. General about the concerted efforts of the state government for make youth of the state more disciplined and physically fit to join armed forces through establishing Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institution Mohali, two NCC academies at Ropar and Malout, besides reviving the Sri Dasmesh Academy at Anandpur Sahib.

Lt. Gen. Sanjiv Chhachra also informed that he had constituted few teams of his officers with an aim to motivate our young generation to join Army. These teams visit different Schools and Colleges in the state along with army- vapors and equipment to exhibit the life and charm of the army. He also agreed to send his team to Sri Dasmesh Academy at Anandpur Sahib soon.  Mr. Badal asked him to work out some plan to provide short term training to the youth on regular bases besides motivating them for which the state government would provide fulsome support and cooperation to the Army for this noble venture. Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema was also present in the meeting.
