The government had “withdrawn”, in February this year, security cover to the BJP leader who was shot dead by suspected militants in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on  Saturday night.“It is the failure of administration. He had four security guards were withdrawn recently by the administration,” BJP senior leader and saffron party’s candidate for  Anantnag Parliamentary constituency Sofi Yousuf told GNS.“This is absolutely the failure of the government. The Dash Bakt (patriotic) people are not provided the security and  there seems to be a conspiracy as the Sofi Yousuf was winning (the parliamentary polls being conducted in three phases with last phase of voting in Shopian and Pulwama on  Monday),” he said, adding, “We will meet Prime Minister in New Delhi and demand a CBI probe.”BJP State spokesperson Altaf Thakur that the slain BJP leader's security was  withdrawn despite an attack on his house in September last year."The unknown persons had vandalized his house while he was not at home, Thakur said and condemned the  killing.The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Vice District President for Anantnag district was shot dead by suspected militants at Verinag area of Anantnag.The gunmen  believed to be militants fired upon Gul Mohammad Mir (60) alias Attal son of Abdul Karim Mir at Nowgam area of Verinag at around 10:00 pm. Gul, who had unsuccessfully  contested assembly elections for Dooru assembly segment in 2008 and 2014, died instantly. (GNS)
