Parimpora Mandi shuts operation, accuses Guv of 'attempting to weaken economy'

Accusing Governor led administration of Jammu and Kashmir of deliberately attempting to weaken the economic situation of Kashmir valley; Fruit Mandi Parimpora on Monday suspended its operation for two days. Mohammad Ayoub Bhat, General Secretary of The New Kashmir Fruit Association said that the gates of fruit mandi will remain closed on Tuesday as well. Bhat said that the mandi was closed on Monday in view of strike call given by Management of New Kashmir Fruit Marketing Complex i.e Fruit Mandi Parimpora against frequent closure and deliberate stoppage of fresh fruit, vegetable laden trucks on Srinagar-Jammu Highway. According to KNO correspondent, the Mandi remained completely closed on April 29 for all trade.  "The gates of Fruit Mandi remained locked. All the member of this association and fruit, vegetable growers, dealers and Kharidaran as well have protested for full day against the deliberate attempt of the governor machinery to weaken the economical situation of the valley," Bhat alleged. He said the Mandi will remain closed on April 30 as well.  The strike call given by Management of the mandi association have been supported by Fruit Mandi Anantnag, vegetable Mandi Ishajipora, Fruit Mandi Sopore, Trade Union Parimpora, Kashmir Economic Alliance, Shahr-e-Khas traders and Batamaloo coordination committee and others.(KNO)
