Gousia Shafakhana & Diagnostic Centre running under the aegis of Idhara Auqaf Gousia, on Sunday celebrated its ten years of medical services in the Valley.The 10th anniversary, held here at Mumtaz Towers, Sarah City Centre, saw a huge participation of people from all walks of life. Among the dignitaries who spoke on the occasion include Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Kunzes Dolma, Prof. G.Q. Allaqaband, Director SKIMS Dr. Omer Javed Shah and Idhara Auqaf Gousia chairman Chowdhay Mehraj-ud-Din Buja.The speakers on the occasion while highlighting the need and demand of better healthcare facilities to the needy and downtrodden people in the Valley expressed hope that the centre will continue to enhance its services in the coming years to reach more and more people.Chairman Adhara Auqaf Gousia, Chowdhay Mehraj-ud-Din Buja while speaking on the occasion said that the Idhara is mulling establishing a hospital in coming years.“The hospital will be laced with high tech equipment that will cater to the demands of tertiary care in the Valley,” Buja said. While extending his heartfelt gratitude to the participants in the ceremony, Buja expressed hope that Idhara will be supported in its future endeavours.

Established in February 2010 as a small venture, Gousia Shifakhana & Diagnostic Centre, continues to grow in stature while reaching out to more and more people with the passage of each year.It started with manual X-Ray plant and USG followed by a manual laboratory and in 2011 was installed with Digital X-ray plant, fully automated biochemistry, immunology and hematology analyzers.In a bid to reach more and more people and to increase the parameters of the analysis and investigations, the centre has recently upgraded the machinery by installing Color Doppler,Echocardiography.Besides providing medical facilities to the poor and downtrodden people of the society, the centre also provides internship programs to aspiring lab technicians. It also aims to start other high-tech demanding diagnosis including Endoscopy, CT Scan, MRI, to provide to BPL families with less than 70% rates as compared to other diagnostic centers.In the field of pathology, the centre is planning to start histopathology, cytology and bone marrow aspiration studies while a 24x7 ambulance service for door to door sample collection especially for old and terminally ill patients is also under consideration.
