His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh JiMaharaj, Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission inaugurated here today a country-wide series of Blood Donation Camps as a part of the ManavEktaDiwasSamagambeing held to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the Mission’s former spiritual Head Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and hundreds of other devotees who laid down their lives for human unity, truth, love and peace.Today the Mission organized 69 blood donation camps under the aegis of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation.  The Foundation proposes to organize about 500 blood donation camps across the country during the coming 12 months.Blessing the donors, His Holiness said that blood donation is the greatest service to humanity since it helps rescue health and save life.  He praised the devotees of the Mission who come forward in great numbers for this noble service.  He said that blood donation movement is no longer confined to India.  Such camps are organized by the Mission abroad also.  Large scalesblood donation camps have already been organized in April this year in Canada, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Bahrain and Nigeria.

Baba Ji said that the devotees always come forward for selfless service to society, nation and the mankind as such.  He mentioned their contribution in the flood affected areas of Uttarakhand, Orissa and even in UK.  He said that our devotees reached out the relief material even to those areas where only helicopters could reach.At the main camp in Delhi, Pujya Mata SawinderJi was one of the leading donors.  In all 1440 devotees of the Mission donated their blood today.  The blood collecting teams came from Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Dr. Hedgewar, Ram ManoharLohia, G.B. Pant, Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, AIIMS – CVC, Kasturba Gandhi, Armed Base Hospital, Sucheta Kriplani, Safdarjung etc.  Special care was taken about cleanliness as also the pre-donation tests and post donation care.  Snacks and lunch for donors and the organizers were arranged by the Foundation.Earlier, a motor vehicle rally was organized to create awareness and to inspire citizens about this noble service to humanity.  Flagged off by Shri J.S. Khurana, MukhyaSanchalakSewa Dal, the Rally started from I.S.B.T., passed through VidhanSabha, Civil Lines, TimarpurGole Market, Balak Ram Hospital, Wazirabad, Nehru Vihar, Vardhman Plaza, Batra Cinema, Dr. Mukherjee Nagar and Sant Nirankari Colony and concluded at the blood donation camp in Samagam Ground, Burari Road, Nirankari Chowk.
