Asking Modi to explain what good he has done for the welfare of Dalit in the country during his five-year rule, Congress Candidate Chaudhary Santokh Singh today claimed that atrocities on Dalit have increased manifold during NDA’s rule.“Be it issues of Dalit, agriculture or unemployment, Modi Government has proved a big failure on all these issues and provided only ‘Lip’ service on all these issues, as a result, grievances of all sections of society have aggravated”, Chaudhary said while addressing a series of massive rallies in the Phillaur assembly segment.“Modi will definitely implement the hidden agenda of RSS to amend Dr B R Ambedkar’s constitution to abolish reservation system in the country, which was already exposed during recent years and even an attempt was made to dilute the Atrocities on SC/ST Act by such forces”, he said while raising the congress slogan “AB HOGA NYAY”.The country is in grip of anger, and it's rising the reason behind this is the fact that the BJP government is not able to give jobs to the youth and this is the key challenge before the government,” he said.Congress MP said: “Farmers for them (BJP) is a liability. But I want to tell them that without farmers the country won't move ahead – be it 21st or 22nd century. It's absolutely clear that without food security and farmers prosperous future, the country can't move forward.“Institutions across the country are under threat. The media industry is being threatened and suppressed by the BJP. The BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) don't want to listen or read anything against them. Media should write and present facts without fear. Congress is always ready to face criticism and correct itself if, it's wrong – that is the difference between us (Congress) and them (BJP),” he said.He claimed that Congress “will defeat the SAD-BJP” in the coming election he said, the party will take steps to address the unemployment and farmers issue at the national and state level. “When our government is formed we will devise a way to solve these issues with a 21st century strategy. We know that we can do it because we listen to people unlike the current government, which doesn't believe in hearing the voice of public,” he said.

Chaudhary said that anti-BJP wave has already gained momentum in the entire country and on May 19 (Last phase of Polling), people of Punjab would put the last nail in the “Coffin” of Modi Government to elect Congress government in the country.Chaudhary rolled out the Congress promises in the Poll Manifesto and explained about the dream scheme of Minimum Income Guarantee, in which Rs 72,000 per annum income would be guaranteed to every poor.He revealed that Congress has promised a holistic agenda of affirmative action for SCs, STs, and OBCs who constitute a little more than 75 percent of the population. Congress has assured to set up an Equal Opportunities Commission, which will recommend affirmative action strategies and policies to achieve equality—and equity—in education, employment and in economic opportunities, he added.He said that, if voted to power Congress would fill all backlog vacancies reserved for SCs, STs, and OBCs in government, semi-government and central public sector organizations within 12 months.Congress promises to amend the Constitution to provide for reservation in promotion posts for SCs, STs, and OBCs, he said adding that special attention will be paid to the educational and health needs of the Scheduled Tribes.“Congress promises to pass a law to provide for reservation for SCs, STs, and OBCs in private higher education institutions”, Congress candidate said.Training his guns towards SAD’s Chief Sukhbir Badal “It is quite surprising that president of the panthic party SAD, which claims to be champion of the religious issues, does not remember the gruesome acts of sacrilege and police firing in which four innocent youth were killed”, Congress Candidate said.Referring to the Sukhbir Badal’s claim that he was not aware of the Nakodar incident of 1986, Chaudhary quipped “How it is possible that even as the issue related to the alleged extra-judicial killings of four youths in Nakodar in 1986 is being debated for a long time and has often made headlines in media reports, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal chose to get away with it saying that he had no knowledge about the incident?Series of huge political meetings held in the villages off Virka, Mahla, Mau Saheb and Khela of Phillaur assembly segment and prominent among those who were present include Devinder Singh, Rakesh Duggal, Narinder Kumar Goyal, Kamaljit Singh Bittu, Makhan Singh, Dr Rakesh Sharma, Yashpal Sharma, Paramjit Bharti, Surjit Singh Mahal, and Ram Lubhaya.
