Shabana Azmi gets the Gully Boy fever and does a Ranveer Singh at Mukka Maar &The Spartan Poker’s Women’s Day Event

A veteran actor, critically-acclaimed and a staunch supporter for woman empowerment, Shabana Azmi has been known to be the voice for people. With a career-graph that showcases a list of power-packed performances, the actor created a stir at the women’s day event hosted by Mukka Maar and Spartan Poker on 8th March at P A Mhatre Grounds in Juhu, Mumbai when she addressed the crowd of over 500 attendees. With 100s of kids and their mothers present, Shabanaji was enthralled to see the passion, dedication and confidence that the kids have all thanks to their training in Martial Arts done by Mukka Maar and supported by Spartan Poker.The children left everyone mesmerized as they demonstrated their skills in Martial Arts and participated in various performance arts competitions including poetry-recital and Martial Arts demonstrations, among special performances were Hula Hoop, story-telling and a short skit on the girl-child.Doing a Ranveer Singh during her interaction with the kids, Shabanaji said, “They say these days that ‘Apna time aayega’ right? I say that ‘Apna time aa gaya!’ and as a woman I believe it! It is wonderful to see so many young girls with the amount of confidence that they have now thanks to Mukka Maar, because of the martial arts training they have received. It is necessary for women to feel safe and secure even on their own, and the most worrisome threat is a physical one; Mukka Maar is addressing this by training them in self-defence via martial arts. I am in awe of these wonderful and confident kids. I hope that this initiative continues to grow!”Sharing the stage with Shabanaji and supporting the cause were Mr. Amin Rozani, Co-founder & MD of Spartan Poker, as well as prominent television actors, Sharad Kelkar, Mohit Raina, Kritika Kamra, Isha Chopra and ex-National Football Player AbeerArsiwala, among others.The judges and guests were left spellbound by the skill and talent displayed by the girls and their mentors, leaving a lasting impression on the attendees as they were in awe of the fine demonstrations and performances put together by the respective schools’ mentors. The winners of the evening were the children from Akurli school who won the title of ‘Best School Performance’ while they also won 1st prize in the poetry, demonstration and debate competitions.
