CEO holds Video Conference with DEOs

Devesh Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer said that with the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections by ECI, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been enforced from the date of announcement of polls. He said that all the matters related to Model Code of Conduct would be dealt promptly. He directed all the District Election Officers (DEOs) cum Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to send Daily Report regarding electioneering and Law and Order situation from their respective district to ensure free and fair elections in the state.He was interacting with all the DEOs and SPs through video conferencing from Shimla today. He directed them to adhere to important instructions regarding electoral rolls.The Chief Electoral Officer enquired about current status of preparation of various plans including district election plan, communication plan, transportation plan, district security plan, sector magistrate plan. He directed them to set up control rooms at district or ARO level to facilitate voters in each district.He also directed to organize a meeting with representatives of various political parties to inform them about model code of conduct.Shri Kumar directed DEOs to impart training to polling personnel for effective management of polls.
