Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today paid a surprise visit at the Sanjhi Rasoi being run by the district administration and NGO ‘Dhan Guru Ram Dass Ji Langar Sewa Society’ at the local Civil Hospital to impart free meal to the needy people. The Deputy Commissioner visited the Sanjhi Rasoi in the afternoon and had detailed deliberations with the people having meal at the Sanjhi Rasoi. He also checked the quality of the food being served to the people and interacted with the volunteers serving the food to the needy people. Mr. Sharma expressed complete satisfaction over the quality of food being served at the Rasoi and said that it was proving as boon for the poor and needy people.The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration along with NGO ‘Dhan Guru Ram Dass Ji Langar Sewa Society’ had taken this initiative for the service of the people. He said that this was a noble cause as the needy people were getting meals without shelving even a single penny from their pocket. Mr. Sharma said that the step was aimed at ensuring that underprivileged people visiting the hospital for treatment get nutritious food without spending any money.The Deputy Commissioner said that through this Rasoi the kin of patients were getting high quality of meal in morning, afternoon and night free of cost. He said not only the patients, but anyone could avail this facility and eat the meal free of cost in the centre. Mr. Sharma further said that the nutrient-rich food would be provided to the visitors daily and a mechanism would be further evolved to ensure that people do not face any kind of problems.
