Health Department Organizes Mega Screening Camp In Aman Nagar

Continuing its drive to provide medical facilities to the people at their doorsteps, the health department on Monday organized a mega health screening camp in Baba Vishwakarma Temple in Aman Nagar.The camp was inaugurated by Jalandhar North MLA Mr Bawa Henry. Addressing the gathering, MLA Mr Bawa Henry said that Punjab Government is determined to providing best health facilities to the people.He said that the health department has launched 'Tandarust Punjab Sehat Muhim' a mass contact program to sensitize people towards preventive care.MLA further told that the health department has ensured regular supply of medicines, the appointment of specialists, and availability of machines in the health care institutions.Mr Henry further stated that the Punjab government has already been offering free treatment for 30 life-threatening diseases to the school students.Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga said that around 1351 people were examined in the camp by the specialists and medicines were given free of cost. District Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar detailed the people about Swine Flu disease including symptoms, causes and treatment.Meanwhile, MLA also flagged off a 'Tandarust Punjab Sehat Muhim' van which would create the awareness among the general public about various diseases.On the occasion, District Family and Welfare Officer Dr Surinder Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
